Introducing IntelliTrace Wireless Temperature Sensing For Heat Trace Applications

Chromalox is pleased to announce that they now offer Wireless Temperature Sensing for Heat Trace applications in both ordinary and hazardous areas. This new capability provides several benefits including expanded application flexibility, improved process safety and measured installation cost savings while maintaining system integrity. The Chromalox Wireless Temperature Sensing system includes the IntelliTrace ITAS or ITLS Series Heat Trace Control Panel and specific industrial wireless transmitters which are paired with appropriate temperature sensors.

Seamlessly Integrated

The IntelliTrace system is the only fully integrated Wireless Temperature Sensing Heat Trace system available. The panel seamlessly facilitates both wired and wireless temperature sensor inputs and the touchscreen computer HMI distinguishes wireless circuits from wired ones.

Each wireless circuit has its own transmitter battery meter, providing three levels of remaining battery life so that you may properly plan service before it is needed. Wireless sensors will automatically show up in the SENSOR window of the I/O Mapping Tab. They are labeled as WS #1, WS #2, etc., and can be assigned to any output circuit.

Proven Technology

The IntelliTrace Wireless system utilizes the Rosemount® 248 Wireless Temperature Transmitter, which is an industry standard in the industrial wireless community. This transmitter is WirelessHARTTM certified and it may be pipe or structure mounted. The 248 transmitter is offered with either aluminum or polymer housing and is available with or without the universal mounting bracket.

Familiar Components

Although other RTD sensors may be utilized, Chromalox has standardized on the RBF185M type Heat Trace Sensor.  This industrial duty RTD is designed to be Pipe Mounted and it comes complete with either an Aluminum or 316L Stainless Steel connection head.

Simplified Installation

To simplify co-location installation of the RBF 185M type pipe mounted heat trace temperature sensor and Rosemount 248 wireless transmitter, Chromalox has developed a pipe mounting kit. This kit may be installed in both ordinary and hazardous areas (Class I, Divisions 1 or 2).
