IPv6-Ready Digital Leak Detection System

TTK Liquid Leak Detection Systems recently announced that TTK’s digital liquid leak detection monitoring panel FG-NET is now the first compliant digital leak detection system with the Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) address.

As the data center industry moves to IPv6 in the near future, TTK will lead the way as the first digital water, acid, and Hydrocarbon leak detection system with IPv6 ready for your next generation of networks.

At TTK, all versions of the FG-NET controller are designed to be easily upgraded. Current customers with existing installations can easily upgrade whenever you are ready!

What is IPv6?

IPv6 is the next-generation Internet Protocol (IP) version 6 (v6) address standard that supplements and will replace IPv4, the protocol many Internet services still use today. Every computer, cell phone, home automation component, IoT sensor and any other device connected to the Internet needs its own, unique numerical IP address to communicate with other devices via the web. A typical IPv4 IP address might be 99.48.227.227. The text form of the IPv6 address is xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx, where each x is a hexadecimal digit, representing 4 bits.

To send data from one computer to another through the web, a data packet must be transferred across the network containing the IP addresses of both devices. Technically, all 4.29 billion IPv4 addresses have already been taken. By contrast, IPv6 can deal with 7.9 x 1028 times more addresses.
